    Learn how to make a work of art through drawing.  We will focus on improving your observation skills and the basic drawing techniques you'll need to creatively compose a drawing.  This class is for all levels of ability, especially beginners.  Students need to bring a drawing pad, wooden pencils, eraser, and a 12 inch ruler.

    This class is designed for absolute beginners and will give you a thorough exploration of the basics, including the types of needles and fiber.  You will learn cast-on, the knit and purl stitches, a basic cable and bind off, how to read a pattern and decipher your stitches.  Please bring 1 skein of Caron Simply Soft yarn (or similar smooth #4 worsted weight yarn) and a set of size 9 knitting needles.

    This introductory class will help you to understand the dynamics of correct linear perspective. You will learn how to find the eye level or horizon line, vanishing point and other basics. Understanding  the mechanical parts of perspective lets you apply  this skill to any form of art.
