A picture is worth a thousand words. Make a triptych that commemorates a special moment or event. In this workshop, we will discuss the idea of storytelling and how a picture, or series of pictures, can tell a story without using a single sentence. Instructor Olga Brindar will show examples of work that employs visual storytelling, engaging the viewer through photography, painting, and installation, and lead a group discussion that talks about the components of a successful story arc. Students will work in various 2D media, including drawing, collage, painting, etc. to create a three-panel story that will be shared in a group critique at the end of class. Class time includes breaks.   Please bring: sketchbooks, paper, media to draw or paint on, as well as any supplies/materials desired. Additional materials provided.
