A-225 Breezy Summer Watercolors (SU26) (July 06, 2026)

Ages 18+

Take the stress out of learning watercolor while painting your favorite sea creature or sea scape. We will start off with simple subjects and progress towards more intricate scenes. The use of water-color pencils or colored pencils is optional for detailing. All skill levels welcome. Materials list below.

Dates: Mondays 7/6 - 8/10 (6 sessions)
Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

SUPPLIES:

watercolor paper - 140 lb. or 300 lb. cold press paper - any brand, any size (can also use 'Masonite board')
brushes: round - #4, #8, #12 or any variety of different sizes
brushes: flat - 1/2" & 1" or any variety of similar sizes
masking tape
plastic palette with large mixing areas
cup for water
Q-Tips
sponge
pencil and soft eraser

PAINTS:

Artist grade paints in TUBES (not cakes), which includes: cadmium yellow, lemon yellow, cadmium red, alizarin crimson, Vandyke brown, raw sienna, Prussian blue, cerulean blue, sap green, Payne's gray
If you do not have all of these colors, just bring a nice variety of what you have on hand.

WS-220 Watercolor Notecards Workshop (SU26) (July 11, 2026)

Ages 18+

Create beautiful beach-themed summer notecards in watercolor! We will be making a set of 4 notecards featuring sea creatures and seashells. The main image will be rendered in watercolor, and we will accent with colored pencils, ink and soft glitter (optional). A great hands-on experience for the artist who is looking for instant gratification and something to take home! All skill levels welcome. Materials list below.

simple set of watercolors

NHAC 2026 Open House (July 18, 2026)

NHAC 2026 Instructor Art Show and Open House
The North Hills Art Center invites you to our Open House! This come-and-go event will be held on Saturday, July 18, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. NHAC instructors will be taking over every studio in the building to demonstrate their art, from acrylic painting and abstract printing to weaving and watercolors. This is the perfect chance to see new-to-you instructors and art firsthand. You can also check out our Instructor Art Show in the gallery, featuring artwork from current NHAC instructors, and all artwork is for sale! With refreshments and prize drawings to round out your visit, we hope you'll enjoy what our creative community has to offer.
