We will paint or draw outside in the picnic table area of NHAC. Learn how to organize yourself and your materials to enjoy art outdoors. Please bring the bare minimum of items your media requires. DO NOT BRING ANYTHING YOU CANNOT BEAR TO LOSE. Bring a plastic garbage bag to sit on, if seating is damp you'll be dry. Bring sunscreen or protective clothing. Bring a jacket if the weather warrants. Bring only what you can easily pack up and easily carry. If you are frail, consider bringing just a newspaper and a Sharpie or two in a plastic grocery bag. Your drawings and observations can be used as a study for a later piece of art. Bring materials as noted in description above.

Create your own character as a hand puppet. Animal, alien, monster or humanoid – it’s up to you in two, 3-hour workshops to produce one hand puppet. The first session is papier-mâché construction of the puppet head, choosing the fabric and starting the body. Sewing begins with a simple straight stitch. The second session is painting and adding details to complete the character. Hair, a beard perhaps, glasses, a guitar? It’s all up to you. This is a fast paced, messy hands-on class. No experience necessary.  All materials included.
