Healing Power of Art Program
In 2015, we began a new program which expands our services to vulnerable populations who would
otherwise be unable to pay for arts education by donating backpacks filled with art supplies to local children.
We continue to offer this much needed healing program. We conduct classes, fundraisers
and gallery shows for women in crisis and children at risk.
In the fall of 2018, we donated another 200 filled backpacks to local children. We were able to supply 100 bags to the North Hills Food Bank
and 100 bags to the North Hills Community Outreach’s Food Pantry clients.
As primarily a volunteer driven organization, we rely on your support to provide arts and art enrichment to the community.
You can help us with your donation.
With your generous donations, we have been able to once again donate an additional 300 filled backpacks in the spring of 2021. We were able to service the children of clients of the North Hills Food Bank, the North Hills Community Outreach’s Food Pantry and Hello Neighbor.
Our goal is to lift children’s spirits and spark imagination.
Creative art activities help children in all areas of development including physical, social, cognitive, and emotional.
With your help, we can continue to provide these Art Kits to children in need. Donations can be made online, by mail to the North Hills Art Center, 3432 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, or by calling our office at 412-364-3622.
“Our patrons were greatly appreciative and excited at the totally unexpected gift for their children! The parents do not have the funds to afford the quality of materials you provided.”
Jim Stebler, Director, North Hills Food Bank
