  The hot wax dye process of batik will be used to create unique paintings on cotton. We will start by applying wax to save the white areas and continue applying dyes as we paint the picture. The entire painting will be soaked in black dye to create the "batik" look. The wax will be melted off and the painting is complete. All materials included.

  Come design and hand stitch a fabric book featuring 6 pages of simple images related to your chosen theme. We’ll make images using accessible-to-anyone hand stitching skills including raw-edged applique and a few embroidery stitches. This is a relaxed, experience! No prior stitching experience necessary.   Add a bit of unexpected color and detail to your life while having fun learning the basics of tablet weaving, both on and off a loom. You can expect to take home two completed projects; a pair of shoe-laces and a second project of your choice.   Learn the tricks of refined fabric fusing as you create a free-form landscape. Your image can be realistic or whimsical, depending on the shapes and fabrics chosen.   Ice will work with the dyes to create with the colors of the rainbow. We will be using some simple tie dyeing techniques in this unique and fun way to make ice work for us. Please bring two items for dyeing. The items must be a natural fiber: cotton, bamboo, rayon, silk, wool, linen. (Polyester, nylon and any other synthetic will not dye).All dye materials included.
