    Interested in learning an art to immediately use in decorations, gifts, or art displays? If so, join a small group for Basics and Beauty of Origami. You will learn easy basic folds and a base for a lovely butterfly. Depart the first session with your butterfly. In session two you will apply butterflies to your selected project: gift decorations, wreath, or vase arrangement! Join the fun and learn how to transform paper into art. Paper is included. Students will be expected to acquire project supplies for the second session, as determined by the project selected. Instructor will explain during session #1.

    In this fused glass workshop, you will cut strips of glass to be positioned in such a way as to create an open lace or coral-like bowl, The strips of glass are overlapped to connect each piece, leaving small openings.  The bowl will be slumped over a round mold to complete the bowl. All materials included.

    Plots should be painful for your characters but not for you! In this class, you'll learn about crafting character-driven stories, increasing (and relieving) tension, pacing, and more. All genres and subgenres of fiction are welcome! Your instructor has written nearly 200 romance and romantic suspense novels, and she's learned all of this the hard way so you don't have to. Bring your journal, notebook, or laptop and 3-5 images of people who intrigue you.

    As the summer colors are in full bloom, this workshop will explore ways we can capture both the final summer flowers. We will prepare cotton and silk fabrics to accept plant materials through steaming (eco dyeing and bundle dyeing), direct transfer or hapa-zome (leaf dye or pounding the plants into the cloth), and solar printing.


    Bring any flowers, berries and leaves from your gardens for dyeing. There will be an assortment of plant material to use if you do not have access to plants.  All materials included.

    Create origami butterflies and stars to add a dash of whimsey to your gifts or your tree.  These unique creations are fun to learn and their use is unlimited. In this class we will focus on decorations for packages and learn the basics of two forms.  Paper will be provided for the first session and you will bring your own for the second session.  

    Students will be expected to acquire project supplies for the second session. This may include holiday paper; song sheet music, book paper, your own origami paper and scissors.
