    "Kurinuki" is a Japanese clay carving technique used to create vessels. It means "hollowing out". In this workshop, you will start  blocks of clay and carving them to create a bowl and a vase. We will glaze our pieces in the 2nd class. No clay experience needed. All materials included.

    Join us for an exciting preserved moss workshop where you’ll transform preserved moss into a stunning masterpiece for your home décor. Students will explore creative techniques and design principals to craft a unique, artistic arrangement that showcases the beauty and texture of moss. Embrace your creativity and leave with a beautiful, lasting piece. Bring a 16x20 frame. You are encouraged to bring materials to personalize your preserved moss piece such as seashells or driftwood.     Jump into spring with some gorgeous handmade planters made with your own sense of pizzazz! Learn how to throw planters with attached drip plates.       Discover the expressive possibilities of collagraph printmaking in this low-relief printing class. Using simple materials such as layered cardboard, textured surfaces, screens and glue, students will build their own printing plates and explore how they translate into printed images. All Materials Included.

      Chinese Brush Painting, dating from 4,000 BC, is the ancient art of using simple strokes of a brush to capture a single object or an entire scene. We will learn the technique of an intentional single stroke to create this beautiful art process. All materials included.

      Learn to create stunning fused glass pendants, earrings and pins. Beginner and experienced glass artists can make up to 8 pieces of wearable art.       Learn all the basics of weaving on a rigid heddle loom in this weekend class. You’ll warp a 16” loom, tie on, and learn to weave on Saturday. On Sunday, you’ll finish weaving and remove your project from the loom. 2 sessions to choose from. All materials included.

      Frottage is a surrealist art technique developed by Max Ernst in 1925 that involves creating rubbings by placing thin paper over textured surfaces and rubbing with pencils, crayons, or charcoal. All materials included.

      Using acrylic paint and a variety of specialty markers, you will design and paint a themed painting on a round canvas. You will pick a subject (flowers, animals, trees etc.) and create areas on the canvas that depict the theme, enhancing the areas with patterns using the markers. All materials included.

      Using both indigo dye and traditional fabric paints, we will create beautiful patterns on fabric using the Shibori technique of folding, clamping and twisting. Bring one or two natural fibers to dye (must fit in a 5 gallon bucket) or use the silk scarves provided. All materials included.
