    Experience the art of collage by creating handmade paper from dissolved National Geographic magazines. Explore National Geographic imagery to craft dynamic collages, experimenting with tearing, layering and embedding techniques. All materials included.

    In this workshop, we will understand the life of the artist Palmer Hayden and the symbolism of his works. We will discuss at least 3 of Hayden's paintings while also creating a piece based off his work. Students will be taught to create a palette similar to Hayden's while connecting to his style of art.     Ages 12+

    Ice will provide us with the colors of the rainbow as we use it to dye our items of clothing. We will be using some simple tie dyeing techniques in this unique and fun way to make ice work for us. Please bring TWO (2) items for dyeing. The items must be a natural fiber: cotton, bamboo, rayon, silk, wool, linen. (Polyester, nylon and any other synthetic will not dye). All dye materials included.

    Ages 14+


    Shibori is the Japanese dyeing process of folding fabric to create interesting patterns. We will dye a silk scarf in class, which is provided, but you need to bring two additional items to dye. Both need to be natural fibers such as 100% cotton, linen, rayon, bamboo, or silk. We will use both fabric paint and traditional indigo dye. All dye materials included.

    Learn to create stunning fused glass pendants, earrings and pins. Beginner and experienced glass artists can make up to 8 pieces of wearable art. Class includes tips on the use of dichroic glass, layering glass, and using frits and stringers. You can create both full and tack fused pieces! All materials included.

    One of the best things about paper crafting is you don't have to spend a lot of money to do it. If you have a box, tape, scrap paper, and glue you are ready to make dimensional art work you will love. This is a super easy paper mâché technique that is a simple yet powerful skill that will serve you well in your ongoing creativity. All materials included.

    The morning will focus on the use of color, shape, value, and perspective. Basic drawing and demonstrations will be given along the way. The afternoon will focus on problem solving and project time. References of trees and water will be available, but feel free to bring your own. Students must have some knowledge of watercolor paints to attend. Students are responsible for their own supplies and encouraged to bring a lunch or snack.

    Embark on a creative journey that merges the ancient art of Gyotaku printing with the expressive medium of watercolor painting. In this class you'll learn the ancient art of Gyotaku (fish printing) then add vibrant color and depth with watercolors. You'll learn how to blend washes, create luminous highlights and enhance your print with brush strokes. All materials included.
