    Are you obsessed with HBO's The Great Pottery Throw Down? Do you want to try some of the challenges yourself and learn how they are done? Take this class to test your wheel throwing skills and have some fun trying goofy challenges, just like on the show! Students MUST have completed a 6-week pottery class at the NHAC to register.     There is a reason why we loved using our imaginations and getting our hands dirty as children. Creating is an integral part of every one of us! Join us for a fun, refreshing and completely judgement free class as we learn the basics of wheel throwing. Learn to make one-of-a-kind, unique to you mugs, bowls, and vases, while tapping into that inner-child and finding joy in getting your hands muddy again. While this class will be going over the basics, all levels are welcome. All materials included.

    All experience levels welcome in this general pottery class.  We will cover both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques in the 6 week course.  Experienced students can improve their skills and beginners can learn the basics. Everyone will create some unique pottery pieces.  The last class will focus on glazing.  A raku firing will be scheduled if the class is interested. All materials included.

    Let's dig deeper into the relationship between clay, glazes, and underglazes. Explore different methods of decorating or finishing your pottery with glazes and underglazes. This class is for students with clay experience (wheel and/or handbuilding.) All materials included.

    In this two-part workshop, you will handbuild a hummingbird feeder using pinching and slab construction. The second class will be spent glazing the feeder to make it colorful enough to attract hummingbirds. No previous clay experience needed. All materials included.

    Learn the solid build techniques to make a sculpture of an animal in a fun pose! Decorate with underglazes like never before. Previous handbuilding experience is helpful, but not necessary. Come with an animal in mind and a reference photo or two. All materials included.

    Come learn to read and write, on both paper and clay, in the world's oldest writing system: cuneiform! Come to class with a phrase that you want to press into a clay tablet, just like in ancient Mesopotamia.  All materials included.

    Delve into the depth of the ocean as we create our favorite sea life out of clay. We will be using handbuilding techniques to bring our creatures to life.
