  All experience levels welcome in this general pottery class.  We will cover both wheel throwing and handbuilding techniques in the 6 week course.  Experienced students can improve their skills and beginners can learn the basics. Everyone will create some unique pottery pieces.  The last class will focus on glazing. All materials included.

  Fire and smoke provide the magic for our Raku and Pit Fired pottery. We will explore the range of Raku techniques and expand the effects of our pit fired pieces through burnishing, chemical additions and saggar firing. All materials included.

  Learn to create stunning fused glass pendants, earrings and pins. Beginner and experienced glass artists can make up to 8 pieces of wearable art. You'll follow along with the instructor and paint in Bob's iconic “alla prima” technique as you paint a "happy beach scene." As a modern twist, acrylic paints will be used.   Using acrylic paint and a variety of specialty markers, you will design and paint a themed painting on a round canvas. You will pick a subject (flowers, animals, trees etc.) and create areas on the canvas that depict the theme, enhancing the areas with patterns using the markers. All materials included.

  Using both indigo dye and traditional fabric paints, we will create beautiful patterns on fabric using the Shibori technique of folding, clamping and twisting. Bring one or two natural fibers to dye (must fit in a 5 gallon bucket) or use the silk scarves provided. All materials included.

  Using a variety of stamps, you will form three larger shapes and several smaller shapes or balls. The pieces will be enhanced with underglazes to give them a weathered look. The finished wind chime will be arranged on wire with assorted glass beads and a large metal bell at the bottom. All materials included.
