  In this class we will focus on capturing light, atmosphere, and mood through loose, expressive brushwork rather than fine detail. We will emphasize quick, effective strokes, avoiding meticulous detail to create a “dream-like” or “hazy” effect inspired by Monet and Pissarro. This is a fast and loose style that is lots of fun. All materials included.

  Learn the techniques for shaping, texturing, and raising designs on thin copper sheets. We will trace patterns, use stylus tools, create deep-relief textures and finish pieces with patina or ink for contrast. End result: one-of-a-kind copper art panels! All materials included.

  NHAC 2026 Instructor Art Show and Open House
  The North Hills Art Center invites you to our Open House! This come-and-go event will be held on Saturday, July 18, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. NHAC instructors will be taking over every studio in the building to demonstrate their art, from acrylic painting and abstract printing to weaving and watercolors. This is the perfect chance to see new-to-you instructors and art firsthand. You can also check out our Instructor Art Show in the gallery, featuring artwork from current NHAC instructors, and all artwork is for sale! With refreshments and prize drawings to round out your visit, we hope you'll enjoy what our creative community has to offer.

  Create custom patterned papers using mono-printing techniques with a gelatin plate and acrylic paint. Once torn, cut and arranged, it’s now a mixed-media artwork. We cover color mixing, texture creation, layering and composition. All materials included.
