  • Please choose this option only if you have a current NHAC membership. Choosing this option without a current membership delays finalizing your registration. Thank you.
  • Please choose this option if you do not have a current NHAC membership. If you are registering a student (grades k thru 12), please consider the $20 yearly student membership-it's the same cost as the $20 non-member fee!

As an adult signing up for more than one class, it will cost less to add a yearly membership instead of paying the non-member fee for each class!

Please click on the MEMBERSHIP tab for more information. Thank you.

Registration deadline: February 22

Ages 9-12 years old

Learn about the process of illustrating your very own story! We’ll explore different styles and mediums that illustrators use by studying many children’s picture books. You’ll start off by creating your characters in a few different styles and mediums, then create thumbnails to show what each of the pages will look like. Next, you’ll begin your sketches, add color and details in your chosen medium, and finish up with a cover design. We’ll celebrate your art by sharing your story with the class on the last day.  All materials included.
