This classes focuses on understanding the basics of drawing, human anatomy, proportions of a human figure, perspective, rendering anatomical planes and forms, and how to capture a plausible rendering of the model.   In class exercises will include rapid gestural renderings, short and long pose exercises.  The final class will be of a single long pose drawing that applies all elements learned in the earlier classes.  Model fee included.  Materials list below.

Graphite Pencils HB, B, 2B, 3B to 5B

Charcoal Pencils or Sticks in Hard, Medium and Soft

Conte' Pastel Pencils (color 009 Black or 001 Sanguine)

White Caulk Sticks or Pencils

Willow and/or Vine Charcoal

Sharpeners and Sanding Blocks

Erasers (gum and stick)

Newsprint paper pad 18 x 24

Strathmore 400 or 500 Paper (Grey Toned Preferred) Pad 18 x 24 or 22 x 30

Drawing Board (Gator or MDF) 22 x 30

Tape or Clips
